The information sources I'm using in my B2B work are
changing and I'm wondering whether other ASBPE members are
having similar experiences.
I'm finding Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org) a good first step
to learn about a new topic, personality, or company. It's a
good shortcut - you get a coherent view more quickly than
fumbling around in Google hits. It's not authoritative,
admittedly, but useful as a starting point.
Google has a blog search (
http://blogsearch.google.com
link from Google News). I'm finding blogs useful for tapping
into industry 'buzz' and up-to-the-minute opposing views
from industry participants on topics I'm covering.
Then there's audio and video search. With more of the
world's information going multimedia, I predict this will
become increasingly important with the passage of time. I
use Podzinger (www.podzinger.com) and YouTube (search from
Podzinger). I don't know how they do it, but they pull
keywords out of audio and video files.
Reaction? Other new sources? Tips?
